This is a milestone for me. One of the 5 frame medium nucs I purchased has already filled the 5 empty frames.
I had noticed that there were several bees hanging out by the entrance. At night when temps were 65 they were not going back inside.
I opened up the hive and sure enough they had almost filled all 10 frames. They needed more room.
Putting a box on top is pretty straight forward. Just pop it on the top. The frames had new foundation. The bees will have to draw comb on it so the queen will lay. I will keep feeding them 1:1 sugar water to help the wax production.
I will check on them and the progress in a few days.
