$1,500 per hive per year

Ownership: All bees and equipment remain the property of Gees Bees

  • What’s Included (Both Options)

    • Hive setup and installation (Spring)

    • Routine inspections throughout the season

    • Swarm prevention and management

    • Mite monitoring and treatment

    • Seasonal feeding (if needed)

    • Winter preparation

    • Ongoing consultation and support

    Routine inspections are performed throughout the season; however, visits are scheduled

    based on hive conditions, weather, and seasonal needs rather than on a fixed calendar.


    What You Get

    • A managed honey bee colony on your property

    • Increased pollination within approximately a 3-mile radius

    • The ability to harvest and keep your own honey. Harvesting and processing are the

      responsibility of the client, with guidance available from Gees Bees if needed.

    • A hands-off beekeeping experience


    Honey (Signature Hive Program)

    A portion of honey may be shared with the host annually, depending on hive production and

    seasonal conditions.


    Service Area


    Gees Bees provides hive management services within approximately 20 miles of Spotsylvania

    (22407), Virginia.

    Locations outside this area may be subject to a travel fee.


    Important Notes

    • Honey bee colonies are livestock and losses can occur

    • Replacement colonies for client-owned hives are not included but can be sourced with

    • our assistance

    • Clients agree not to use pesticides near the hive location

    • Annual service is required for continued management


    Hive Placement Guidelines

    For best results, hives should be placed:

    • Facing South or Southeast

    • Near a natural barrier (trees, fence, or structure)

    • Within range of a water source

    • In a location accessible for routine inspections
